THE PROJECT

Turnkey Boating Solution

Red Bay Marina and Yacht Club offers residents, second home owners and visitors to the Abacos something that hasn’t been offered before – fully enclosed dry storage with an on-site service center making the long and expensive trip to the United States for routine service no longer a necessity. Boats will be protected from the weather and from theft, and an onsite provisioner will make it easy to stock up for an adventure. Most importantly, our members enjoy convenience – your boat will be ready upon arrival, and when returning, simply hand over the keys and depart without worry.

The project was in the planning stages prior to the devastating impact of Hurricane Dorian on the Abacos. The development team, sensitive to the impact the storm has had on the community along with the community’s rebuilding priorities, decided to move the project forward so that residents and visitors returning to the Abacos will quickly have worry-free access to the water again allowing them to focus on their own rebuilding efforts.

HURRICANE PLAN

A Two-Tiered Approach

Tier 1 – Protection

The buildings will utilizing modern construction to withstand sustained winds to 200 MPH.
Construction includes heavier and deeper engineered steel frames, 12” heavy gage purlins, wall girts with close spacing, 24 -gage metal roof and wall panels, and substantial metal panel fastener spacings.
The docks will be high grade aluminum frame floating docks rated to withstand category 3 hurricane conditions and anchored by 20-inch diameter steel piles, the strongest in the industry.
For all boats not inside the buildings, we will offer haul-out via a 100-ton travel lift and tie-down anchored to land.

Tier 2 – Catastrophic Insurance Coverage

In addition to the protective storage facilities, Red Bay Marina and Yacht Club will provide hurricane plan execution in accordance with insurance providers, ensuring that catastrophic insurance coverage is there when you need it.
We are working with Geico/Boat U.S. today and we will be working with other insurance underwriters prior to opening

THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Loggerhead Holdings, based in Abaco, is a privately owned holding company with deep roots in the Abacos and the Bahamas. Loggerhead is the property owner and lead developer working closely with the government and development team to design and build Red Bay Marina. The company has a successful track record, a strong understanding of Bahamian law and is very well respected throughout the Bahamas, particularly in Abaco. Loggerhead leads the development team in the desire, passion, and commitment to rebuild Abaco community.

Marina Development Partners, based in Orlando, Florida is a privately-owned real estate development company specializing in marina and waterfront value-add projects primarily located along the east coast of the United States and the Bahamas. The company is participating in over $100 million of active value-add waterfront development projects today. The principals behind Marina Development Partners have extensive institutional real estate experience owning, managing, financing and constructing more than $250 million worth of marina specific projects over the last decade.

Bluewater Developers and Builders Ltd. is a full service general contracting company that has been in business for over 30 years in both Florida and Bahamas. Bluewater has completed over 2 million sf of both residential and commercial work as well as done numerous marine projects and land development. Principles Ed Colson, Roger Rex and Scott Ferguson have vast knowledge of construction and development expertise and work experience in the Bahamas and Florida. Projects of recognition include Four Season’s in Exuma, Castaway Cay (Disney) in the Abacos, Bahama Beach Club in Treasure Cay, Port of Call condominiums in Grand Bahama, Bakers Bay custom homes in Guana Cay, Cat Cay custom homes, Harbor Island custom homes and Discovery Bay in Jamaica to name a few in the Caribbean.

THE DESIGN TEAM

Mack David Buildings – David Coyle is an expert in marina dry storage design, pricing, consulting and construction management. In addition to believing that customer service comes first, he combines quality, function, efficiency, and attention to detail with beautiful designs, customized for every project. He has been named Preferred Vendor by National Marina Sales and his 2019 Anna Maria Island’s Pier 77 project was featured on the cover of Marina Dockage magazine.

Vida Studios is a boutique design and architecture firm with a focus on master planned communities, marine and resort developments. Their international design touch showcases constant discovery of timeless forms. With a combined 55 years experience in coastal Caribbean projects the partners provide a laser focus approach to project development and timely execution.
