Sitting at the midpoint of Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay on the North Side of the Great Abaco Island is Red Bay Marina and Yacht Club. It occupies a prime location and is just a short 45-minute flight from South Florida and Nassau. Due to growing demands additional direct flights are now available from Charleston and Atlanta.
The location of Red Bay Marina makes it the star of the Abacos, in the heart heart of the Abacos as far as accessibility.
Red Bay Marina is committed to the “Blue Flag” Eco-label standards that have been awarded to several marinas making a strict environmental and safety criteria commitment. Marinas awarded the Blue Flag designation include Atlantis Marina, Bimini Sands Marina, Cape Eleuthera Marina, and Old Bahama Bay Marina. The award is based upon criteria within environmental management, environmental education and information, safety and service, and water quality. The program is operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and represented in the Bahamas by the Bahamas Reef Environmental Education Foundation (BREEF).
Each boat storage facility will support a ~1-acre solar array that will be used to supply electricity to the entire project, reducing the reliance on power provided by BPL. A reclaimed water system will also be part of each building and used throughout the project.
The Abacos has become its own luxury destination. Earning this vaulted status has taken decades by attracting generations of repeat travelers. Such moniker playground destinations are earned over time and experience, naturally traveling by word of mouth. Abaco is home to some of the most pristine beaches and breathtaking turquoise waters in the world. Each island offers its own unique set of experiences and points of interest. Many incredible and diverse local attractions are accessed from the sheltered waters of the Sea of Abaco. Elbow Cay’s iconic candy striped lighthouse, the world famous Nippers or Pete’s Pub & Foundry, and the swimming pigs of No Name Cay are major magnets for visitors. World-class conditions for sailing, boating and deep sea and bone fishing make Abaco an ideal destination for tournaments and hobbyists alike.
